And the early word on the new Sex in the City movie is….

Not good. Sorry ladies. But it does not sound promising.

A very useful website for movie reviews is RottenTomatoes.com. If your not familar with how Rotten Tomatoes works, it basically takes a CRAP load of reviews from newspapers and websites, and determines if the individual reviews are a positive review or a negative review for a movie. We then can see what percentage was positive and what percentage is negative.

Right now Sex in the City 2 is at 16%. That is really really bad. 12 reviews were positive, while 65 so far are negative.

Of course, you can’t just go by reviews, you do have to make your own judgement. But 16% is a VERY big sign that this movie is not very good. Regardless of that fact, I know that for women the experience of going (it’s the Star Wars for Females) can be just as important as the movie itself, having the martini parties and whatever else you ladies do for this, but I am sure it would be nice to be blown away by the movie in addition to the pre-game parties.

Here is the consensus from the reviews… “Straining under a thin plot stretched to its limit by a bloated running time, Sex and the City 2 adds an unfortunate coda to the long-running HBO series.”

So if you are heading to the theater for this movie with high hopes, it might be wise to lower those expectations.

AND by the way….we had our first installment of “Sex in the City from a Man’s perspective” the other day, and we will be dropping installment number two on you in the next day or so!
